1. From Bali (DPS airport) : Fly into Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), take a taxi to Padang Bai Harbor, and then board a speedboat to Gili T. This route takes about 4-5 hours, including waiting time. Be warned: the speedboat ride can be rough, and most passengers on my boat ended up seasick. (Motion sickness pills are a must!)
2. From Lombok (LOP Airport) : Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), take a taxi to the harbor, and then take a speedboat to Gili T. Since Gili T is closer to Lombok, this route takes only 1.5-2 hours. Alternatively, you can hire a private boat for a quicker and more comfortable 15-minute ride. (In 2023, I paid IDR 750,000 for a taxi + private boat for two people.)

Having tried both routes, I highly recommend flying into Lombok if possible.

Bicycles are the most popular way to explore the island, and most accommodations offer bike rentals. However, the unpaved roads in the island’s center can be challenging, so I preferred walking. The island is small enough to walk around in 20-30 minutes, and you can even circle the entire island on foot.

For someone used to bustling city life, the absence of cars was fascinating. Riding a cidomo for the first time felt like a unique cultural experience, far removed from typical tourist activities.

Is Gili Trawangan a Quiet Retreat or a Boring Island?

In contrast, local eateries serving Indonesian dishes charged only IDR 40,000-70,000 for two. Seafood, surprisingly, wasn’t cheap either, with popular seafood grill restaurants charging around IDR 1,200,000 per meal.

That said, the island offers a variety of international cuisines, and the food quality is generally good. (Just don’t expect pristine cleanliness.)

Oh Warung Gili: Authentic Indonesian Comfort Food

For our first dinner on the island, we wandered along the eastern edge of Gili Trawangan, looking for an authentic dining experience. While most establishments seemed more focused on nightlife with their party atmosphere and bright lights, we discovered Oh Warung Gili, a modest restaurant with a hand-written sign tucked away in an alley. Unlike the tourist-oriented restaurants serving multiple cuisines, this place specialized in Indonesian dishes, particularly comfort food that’s easily approachable for foreigners.

We ordered Mie goreng and Ayam kremes (crispy chicken), along with a side of bok choy. The dishes were familiar and well-prepared, making it an excellent choice for those wanting to try Indonesian cuisine without venturing too far from their comfort zone.

Night Market Experience

While night markets are typically a must-visit attraction in Southeast Asia, the night market in Gili Trawangan was unfortunately disappointing. Despite its small size, which wouldn’t normally be an issue, the lack of variety and repetitive offerings made it less appealing. We tried corn on the cob, chicken satay, and octopus satay. The chicken was passable, but the fish satay was too fishy, the octopus was incredibly tough, and the corn lacked sweetness.

The market fell short in all three crucial aspects: taste, hygiene, and price. It wasn’t particularly cheap despite being street food, and the hygiene standards were concerning. I’d recommend experiencing the atmosphere briefly but saving your appetite for better establishments.

Sumi Sate: The Best Satay in Gili Trawangan

Among all the meals we had on the island, Sumi Sate was the absolute highlight. This popular spot among Korean tourists is located in an unexpected area with a simple setup and no English menu. We ordered Sate Ayam (chicken satay) and Bebalung (beef dish) with Nasi putih (white rice).

While the hygiene standards might make some hesitant, the food quality more than makes up for it. The chicken satay had a familiar yet distinctive taste that would appeal to many Asian palates, and the Bebalung reminded me of Korean galbitang (beef rib soup) with a hint of cilantro. At 70,000 rupiah for two people, it offered excellent value for money. Though they don’t serve beer and the cleanliness could be better, Sumi sate is absolutely worth visiting for the best satay experience on the island.

Jali Kitchen: International Fusion in Paradise

Jali Kitchen is one of the most recommended restaurants in Gili Trawangan, featured in numerous travel vlogs and recommended by our Insana Villa host as “a restaurant that offers a variety of Thai, Indonesian, Western and Vietnamese cuisine at friendly prices in a cosy setting.”

Given its popularity, we arrived with high expectations. The restaurant was bustling with customers, with numerous bicycles parked outside. While the menu offered diverse international options, we opted for Western dishes – Chili Con Carne and Creamy Cajun Pasta. Unfortunately, our experience was somewhat underwhelming. The orange juice we ordered was disappointingly bland, almost like flavored water, quite unlike the sweet-tangy juices you’d find in Thailand.

The main dishes were adequate but unremarkable, leaving us wondering about the restaurant’s popularity. Later research revealed that Jali Kitchen is actually famous for its burgers, which looked mouth-watering in photos. If I return to Gili Trawangan, I’d definitely give their burgers a try.

Mie Ayam: An Accidental Local Gem

After trying Bakso instant noodles at our Jakarta airport hotel, I was eager to try authentic Bakso noodles. We headed to what we thought was a Bakso noodle shop near the night market, but accidentally ended up at a Mie Ayam (chicken noodle) stand instead.

After breakfast, we headed to Turtle Point around 10 AM. Located on the northeastern side of the island, Turtle Point isn’t a specific spot but rather an area where snorkelers gather. If you see a crowd in the water, chances are there’s a turtle nearby.

As you approach the northeastern beach, you’ll notice signs with turtle illustrations, and Google Maps even marks a few beach bars with names like “Turtle Point.” We settled at a place called Hello Malalo Bar, which didn’t charge a seating fee as long as you ordered drinks. You could even order after swimming, so we decided to get our drinks later and rented fins for 50,000 IDR for a pair.

In April, Gili Trawangan was humid but not overly hot. The morning sky was slightly cloudy, making the weather perfect for snorkeling—not too hot, and the UV rays weren’t too intense. However, the ocean didn’t look as clear as I had hoped. The water was incredibly shallow, never deeper than shoulder height, which made it safe for snorkeling, especially for families with young children.

The seabed at Gili Trawangan is mostly covered with dead coral, and in sandy areas, you’ll find small seaweeds growing. Despite the seemingly barren environment, there are fish to be seen. A Few Drawbacks

One slight disappointment was the water clarity near the beach. While the water wasn’t dirty, the area where turtles are often seen is sandy, and with so many people walking around, the water easily became murky, making it look dirty in photos. I thought going early in the morning might help, but even at 7 AM the next day, the water was still shallow and murky, possibly due to the tide.

A Private Oasis Among Accommodations in Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan is a small island, and perhaps because of its size, you won’t find large-scale resorts or well-known brand hotels here. While there are a few 5-star options, they’re not what you might typically imagine. Most accommodation in Gili Trawangan are 3 to 4-star stays, with a variety of guesthouses and Airbnb options available. My trip to Bali & Gili Trawangan in 2023 was a belated honeymoon, delayed due to the pandemic, so I wanted to stay in the best possible place.

After thorough research, I found Insana Villa, one of the top accommodation in Gili Trawangan, where I stayed for two nights. It was so satisfying that I even considered canceling the rest of my Bali trip to extend my stay here.

Arrival and First Impressions

Upon arrival, I met the host at the villa to check in and receive the room key. We were welcomed with a refreshing coconut drink and introduced to Atun, the housekeeper who would take care of us during our stay. Atun prepared our daily breakfast, and we could choose our preferred menu from a provided list.

After the host left, my husband and I explored the villa. Insana Villa is a small villa with a maximum capacity of four people, but it’s surprisingly spacious. There are two bedrooms; the main bedroom we used was incredibly large with high ceilings, giving it a grand feel despite being a wooden structure. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided excellent natural light and views of the lush green garden. The main bathroom connected to the bedroom had an indoor bathtub and an outdoor rain shower. Basic amenities were provided, but I used my own products.

The second bedroom was smaller and cozier, with a convenient indoor shower. The beds were king and queen-sized, making it comfortable for a family of four or a group of friends. While it was just the two of us, the villa felt a bit too large, and I thought it would be perfect to bring children or friends next time.

The mini-bar was stocked with drinks at convenience store prices, which was a pleasant surprise. We could enjoy Indonesia’s famous Bintang beer without the hassle of buying it elsewhere. The villa also offered various paid services like snorkeling tours, trips to other Gili islands, boat reservations to Lombok or Bali, and even babysitting services. The host was always available to assist with any needs, like helping us find motion sickness pills for our speedboat ride to Bali.

Dining and Pool Area

The dining area connects to the outdoor pool, which is quite large for a villa accommodating up to four people. The pool, about 1.5 meters deep, is surrounded by beautifully maintained trees and flowers, creating a serene atmosphere. The water was slightly salty, likely due to the island’s use of seawater, and there were some leaves and sand at the bottom, but it didn’t bother me. However, snorkeling at Gili Trawangan’s turtle point was far more exciting than swimming in the villa’s pool.

A Wonderful Breakfast

After a peaceful day, we had breakfast the next morning. We had pre-selected our menu and preferred time, but there was a slight delay as Atun arrived a bit late. The breakfast spread was colorful and abundant, with bread, butter, jam, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit juice (options included watermelon, banana, pineapple, papaya, ABC juice, and green juice). The main dishes included egg dishes, granola smoothie bowls, banana cinnamon porridge, granola fruit yogurt, nasi goreng, and pancakes. We chose pancakes, nasi goreng, watermelon juice, and papaya juice.

The portion was generous, easily enough for two. The bread, coffee, and tea were good, and the nasi goreng was as expected. The pancakes were average, and the egg dishes the next day were visually different from what we imagined. While the food wasn’t gourmet, it was satisfying. The fruit platter was impressive but not very sweet, which seemed to be a common issue in Indonesia during our visit.

The wooden villa, with its bright natural light and views of the green garden and pool, provided a peaceful escape from the noisy city life. It felt like a second honeymoon, even years after our wedding.

The lack of high-end accommodation in Gili Trawangan wasn’t an issue for us, thanks to Insana Villa. This private pool villa offered a unique blend of Airbnb-style lodging with hotel-like services, making our stay incredibly satisfying. Gili Trawangan is more about relaxation than sightseeing, and having a comfortable place to stay is crucial. Insana Villa exceeded our expectations, and I even found myself researching land prices on the island. If I could, I’d build a similar villa and visit regularly. I would definitely return to Insana Villa and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gili Trawangan, especially small families or groups of friends looking for the perfect accommodation in Gili Trawangan.

Affordable and Convenient Jakarta Airport Hotel

The first destination of my trip was Gili Trawangan , with a transit in Jakarta before heading to Lombok. Since I needed a Jakarta airport hotel for my overnight stay, I chose the Anara Airport Hotel, located closest to the airport. My evening flight landed in Jakarta, but the next available flight to Lombok was early the next morning. This meant I had no choice but to stay overnight in Jakarta.

After a 7-hour flight from Incheon, I arrived in Jakarta in the evening. The weather was humid but not too hot, and immigration went quickly due to the late hour. By the time I got out, it was already 9 PM. I had read that finding Anara Airport Hotel could be tricky, so I researched the directions in advance. Despite this, I still ended up wandering for a while before finally locating the hotel.

The hotel was quiet at night, and I checked in around 9:30 PM. The room was simple but clean and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Since I only needed a place to sleep before heading back to the airport in the morning, the location was perfect. At a rate of approximately USD 58 (KRW 78,000) per night for two people, including breakfast, the hotel was excellent value for money.

How to Find Anara Airport Hotel

Finding Anara Airport Hotel can be confusing, so it’s best to prepare ahead. There are two main routes:

1. Through the connecting walkway on the 2nd floor of the airport.
2. Via the parking lot building on the 3rd floor, accessed from outside the airport.

The first route is far more convenient. After clearing immigration and customs, you’ll see a currency exchange booth directly ahead. Walk straight past it until you reach the exit (you’ll see a large plaza with the parking lot behind it). Instead of exiting, make a U-turn and re-enter the airport. Inside, you’ll find an elevator next to the baggage scanner. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, where you’ll find a slightly inclined connecting walkway. Cross this walkway to the adjacent building, which is the parking lot building. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor of this building (2nd floor from the airport perspective).

While the location can be tricky at first, once you figure it out, the hotel is very accessible and conveniently located. I initially got lost and ended up going outside to the parking lot, which was crowded and chaotic. The humidity didn’t help either, so I highly recommend using the 2nd-floor walkway instead.

Snacks and Beer from Airport Store at Night

After checking in, it was already past 9:30 PM. I wasn’t particularly hungry, having eaten during the flight, but I still wanted to grab some snacks and beer to mark the start of my trip. Since the hotel is connected to the airport, the closest option for food and drinks was back at the airport. The 2nd floor is home to various restaurants, convenience stores, and shops.

I initially wanted to try Indonesian satay, but most restaurants had already closed by 10 PM. The only 24-hour option was A&W, but burgers and fried chicken didn’t appeal to me. Instead, I visited a FamilyMart for snacks and WHSmith for beer, as FamilyMart doesn’t sell alcohol.

At WHSmith, I picked up beer, chips, instant noodles, and water. When the cashier told me the total was “425,” I mistakenly thought it was in thousands of rupiah (IDR 10,000 = approximately USD 0.64). It turned out to be 425,000 IDR (~USD 32), much more expensive than I anticipated. Alcohol, especially beer, tends to be pricey in Indonesia due to religious factors.

Back at the hotel, I enjoyed my snacks while watching YouTube. I tried bakso-flavored instant noodles (a light, comforting meatball soup flavor) and found them delicious. My husband had curry-flavored noodles, which had a strong spice aroma that may not suit everyone. Personally, I preferred the bakso flavor.

Buffet Breakfast for Two Included in the Stay

With my flight to Lombok departing at 11:20 AM, I had plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast. I expected the dining area to be crowded, but it was surprisingly empty, possibly due to the early hour or the fact that it was Ramadan.

The breakfast buffet offered a variety of options, but many dishes were unfamiliar to me. I started with a traditional Indonesian salad, which surprised me with its strong herbal and tangy flavors—completely different from what I expected. After that, I played it safe with more familiar items and enjoyed a satisfying meal. The highlight was the freshly made noodle soup, which had a comforting, homey flavor reminiscent of Vietnamese pho.

Final Thoughts

Staying at Anara Airport Hotel was a practical choice dictated by my flight schedule. For USD 58 per night, including breakfast for two, it offered excellent value for money. If you’re transiting through Jakarta and need an overnight stay, I highly recommend Anara Airport Hotel for its convenience and comfort. Just be sure to plan your route to the hotel in advance!

Asiana Business Lounge Experience (Incheon airport)

You can check in at Counters A-C in Terminal 1 of Incheon Airport. Business class passengers have access to the Asiana Premium Check-in area, located beyond Counter A. When I arrived, there was no queue, allowing for immediate check-in before proceeding to immigration. Unfortunately, Incheon Airport doesn’t offer a business class fast track for security and immigration.

After clearing immigration, the reality of traveling finally hit me. Both my husband and I love spending time at the airport before flights, even though we don’t shop at duty-free stores. This visit felt particularly special as it was our first time at the airport in three and a half years since our last trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam in 2019, including our postponed honeymoon due to COVID-19.

With about 2.5 hours until boarding, we decided to have lunch at the lounge. While there’s a saying that Korean food sells best at Incheon Airport (as Koreans love having spicy Korean soups like kimchi stew or yukgaejang before international flights), we opted for the lounge dining experience this time.

The Asiana Lounge operates at different times depending on location: East (05:00-22:00), Central (06:00-22:00), and West (06:00-00:30). It’s important to check these varying hours before your visit.

We chose the Central lounge, closest to our departure gate. Despite its spacious layout and numerous seats, all single seats were occupied, indicating how busy it was.

The food section, while more limited compared to other Terminal 1 lounges, offered various salads, fruits, sandwiches, bread, about four hot food options, porridge, soup, and instant noodles. We enjoyed chicken, spaghetti, and beer for lunch, and the alcohol selection was decent enough that I could savor some sake while waiting for boarding time.

Incheon to Jakarta: Asiana Airlines Business Class Experience (OZ761)

The Asiana flight OZ761 from Incheon to Jakarta operates once daily, taking seven hours. Flying on an A350-900, the business class configuration was 1-2-1, with middle seats alternating between together and separated arrangements. I chose a window seat, though it meant being separated from my travel companion.

After receiving welcome champagne, I spent time gazing out the window until takeoff. I’ve always enjoyed watching scenery from transportation vehicles – it brings a sense of tranquility.

The meal service began shortly after takeoff. Despite having eaten in the lounge, I couldn’t pass up the inflight dining experience. The menu offered Western and Korean options – I chose Western. For drinks, I selected a medium-dry sherry (Sandeman) as an aperitif, Columbia Crest Grand Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 to pair with the steak, and Taylor’s Port wine for dessert.

The meal progression included:

• Appetizer: Couscous chicken breast salad
• Main: Black truffle beef tenderloin steak
• Cheese course: Tête de Moine, blue cheese, and Camembert, Fruits
• Dessert: Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream

The food quality exceeded my expectations, though the portions were quite generous, leading to slight overindulgence.

After dinner, the cabin lights dimmed for sleep time, but I was too full to recline. The entertainment system showed its age with poor screen quality, so I spent time writing travel notes while watching the flight map.

Later, the familiar aroma of instant noodles wafted through the cabin – a beloved tradition on Korean carriers. Despite the temptation, I was still too full from earlier meals. The seven-hour flight passed quickly before we landed in Jakarta.

This marked my first business class experience, and I was impressed. Both Korean Air and Asiana are known for excellent crew service, and the ability to lie flat made a significant difference in comfort. Comparing this to a 2018 LCC flight to Bangkok, where a 5-hour journey left me with severe back pain, the business class experience felt completely different – no fatigue at all. While the price difference between business and economy is substantial, I finally understood why people choose business class. It made me dream about always traveling this way and motivated me to work harder!

Sapphire Plaza Premium Lounge Experience (Jakarta airport)

Returning to Jakarta Airport after our Gili Trawangan and Bali adventure, the surroundings already felt familiar. While waiting to check in for our return flight, we encountered a delay due to a band group ahead of us discussing oversized musical instrument baggage. Despite arriving over three hours early, we had less than 90 minutes after clearing immigration.

For our night flight, I headed to the Sapphire Plaza Premium Lounge to shower before departure. The shower facilities had a short queue due to high traffic. Unlike some lounges, this one doesn’t accept Priority Pass or The Lounge app access. Prices were IDR 319,680.00 for shower facilities and IDR 807,386.25 for three hours of lounge access – relatively expensive. Fortunately, our Asiana business class tickets included complimentary lounge access.

The shower facilities were clean and well-maintained, providing all necessary amenities including toothbrushes, towels, and hairdryers. The lounge itself impressed with its high ceilings and sophisticated atmosphere. It even featured a children’s play area with toys – perfect for families traveling with young ones.

Having missed dinner, we turned to the lounge’s food offerings for our evening meal, which turned out to be surprisingly good. The spread included salads, fruits, sandwiches, and desserts – notably, the watermelon and melon here were the best we’d tasted throughout our entire Bali & Gili Trawangan trip.

While the food selection wasn’t extensive, the lounge featured a cooking station. Browsing the menu, I spotted “Noodle soup (local dish) with beef balls” and exclaimed, “Oh! Bakso?” The staff confirmed my guess. Intriguingly, they served the Bakso noodles with a mix of rice noodles and egg noodles, and I added some sambal sauce like you would with Thai noodles – the slight spiciness was exactly to my taste. They also offered bread, cakes, some fried items, and even taro and cassava chips (similar to those we enjoyed at Munduk Moding Plantation Resort). For drinks, there was a centrally located bar with a bartender, where my husband and I enjoyed Carlsberg beers while relaxing until boarding time.

Although the lounge didn’t offer an extensive food selection, the cooking station was definitely a highlight, and the fruit quality was excellent. The facility itself impressed with high ceilings and spacious layout, creating a serene, uncrowded atmosphere. The shower facilities were immaculately maintained, and there was even a dedicated kids’ room.

My only regret was not being able to enjoy the lounge longer, as we were delayed by the lengthy Asiana Airlines check-in process. While the lounge doesn’t accept Priority Pass or Lounge Key, and I might hesitate to pay the full price for access without my complimentary business class lounge voucher due to the value proposition, I was generally satisfied with the overall experience.

While the food selection wasn’t extensive, the cooking station was a highlight. The overall ambiance, with its spacious layout and calm atmosphere, enhanced the experience. Though I wouldn’t recommend paying the premium price for access, the lounge delivered a satisfactory experience for business class passengers.

Jakarta to Incheon: Asiana Airlines Business Class (OZ762)

Our return journey on Asiana Airlines business class flight OZ762 maintained the same premium 1-2-1 configuration, and we chose middle seats together this time. The Asiana Airlines business class experience began with a welcome champagne, followed by the crew taking our breakfast preferences for the early morning service. The menu offered Western (choice between bulgogi and crepe) or Korean (mushroom vegetable porridge) options.

Exhausted from our travels, I took full advantage of the Asiana Airlines business class flat-bed seating and went straight to sleep after takeoff. I woke up just as breakfast service began, though my appetite was minimal in my groggy state. I chose the crepe, which came with fruit, yogurt, potatoes, ratatouille, and sausage, but couldn’t finish it. My husband opted for the bulgogi beef and thoroughly enjoyed it with the gochujang sauce, satisfying his craving for Korean flavors. Observing other passengers, the Korean porridge option seemed popular – probably a better choice for an early morning meal.

The Asiana Airlines business class experience, particularly the flat-bed seating, made the overnight flight remarkably comfortable. While my first business class journey showed signs of cabin age and didn’t quite match my dream expectations, the ability to lie flat transformed the journey. My husband joked about never flying economy again – if only that were possible!

Our journey to Bali and Gili Trawangan via Jakarta, though requiring extra travel time compared to direct flights, proved highly satisfying. Gili Trawangan left such an impression that we hope to return with our future children. Bali’s vast size and diverse attractions helped me understand why many opt for month-long stays. With so many unexplored areas, I’m planning at least 3-4 more visits, and I wouldn’t mind taking the Asiana Airlines business class Jakarta route again.

Bali & Gili Trawangan

드디어 발리 여행 출발! 감기 기운이 있는 호건이를 두고 여행을 떠나자니 자꾸 눈에 밟혔는데.. 그렇다고 여행 출발 당일에 취소할 수도 없고.. 내가 자꾸 집에서 뭉그적거린다고 남편이 여행 가기 싫으냐고 물어본다.
어쩔 수 없이 호건이는 시어머님께 맡기고 시아버님이 공항까지 태워주셔서 어려움 없이 공항에 도착했다.

인천공항 1터미널 아시아나 체크인 카운터 위치

아시아나는 인천공항 1터미널에 있다. 인천공항 1터미널로 들어와서 가장 가까운 신호등에서 내려서 공항으로 들어가면 바로 A, B 카운터가 나오는데, A~C가 아시아나체크인 카운터다.

그리고 우측으로 아시아나 프리미엄 체크인이라고 쓰여있는 곳이 나오는데 비즈니스 클래스는 그쪽으로 들어가면 체크인 할 수 있다. 체크인 중인 사람이 거의 없어서 기다리지 않고 바로 체크인 완료! 수하물을 부치고 지체할 것 없이 바로 출국장으로 들어갔다.

심사를 마치고 출국장으로 들어가니 여행 가는 것이 실감이 난다! 나와 남편 둘 다 여행 가는 것도 좋아하긴 하지만, 여행 출발 전 공항에서 시간 보내는 것을 엄청 좋아하기 때문에 정말 너무 신났다. 특히 공항 맥주 바에서 할 일 없이 아무 생각도 없이 시간에 쫓기지 않는 상태에서 맥주를 한잔하면서, 여행이 시작됨을 느끼며 기대감을 부풀리는데.. 이 자체가 무려 3년 반 만이다..! 몹쓸 코로나.. ㅠ

아시아나 비즈니스 라운지 vs 마티나 라운지

우리가 체크인하고 출국장에 들어온 시간이 12시. 그리고 보딩 타임은 14시 50분까지. 거의 2시간 반 이상 시간이 남아서 우선 밥부터 먹기로 했다. 푸드코트의 식당에서 먹어도 괜찮긴 하지만 이번에는 여행 비용도 아낄 겸 라운지에서 간단하게 해결하기로 했다. 나랑 남편 둘 다 PP카드가 있어서 마티나 라운지, 그리고 아시아나 비즈니스 탑승권으로 아시아나 라운지를 이용할 수 있었기 때문에 둘 중 어디로 갈지 고민하면서 검색을 해봤는데, 먹을 건 마티나 라운지가 훨씬 더 많지만 라운지 내 테이블이 굉장히 많고 간격은 좁으며 사람도 그만큼 엄청 많다고 한다.. 나와 남편 둘 다 먹는 것을 엄청 좋아하지만 또 복작복작한 것을 싫어하기 때문에 그냥 덜 붐빌 것 같은 아시아나 라운지로 결정했다.

카운터에서 체크인할 때 자카르타행 비행기 탑승구는 24번 게이트이고, 26번 게이트 부근에 아시아나 라운지 센트럴이 있다고 안내받아서 우리는 아시아나 라운지 센트럴로 갔다.
그 외에 출국장 양 사이드로 아시아나 라운지 이스트, 웨스트가 있다.
각 위치별로 뭔가 다른가 해서 구경 가봤는데 그냥 똑같았다. 본인의 탑승구와 가까운 라운지를 이용하면 된다.

아시아나 라운지 센트럴은 본인의 항공권을 찍으면 들어갈 수 있게 되어있었다.
라운지에 들어가니 공간도 넓고 좌석도 정말 많긴 했는데, 1인석과 안마 의자 같은 이용해 보고 싶은 곳들은 이미 자리가 다 꽉 차있었다. 어차피 식사하기엔 푸드 바 앞이 편하니 나와 남편은 그쪽으로 자리를 잡았다. 확실히 마티나 라운지에 비하면 가짓수가 많지는 않다. 약간은 초라해 보일 정도..?

아시아나 비즈니스 라운지 운영시간 및 이용 대상 

아시아나 라운지는 스위트와 일반이 있는데, 우리는 일반을 이용했다.

아시아나 라운지의 운영 시간은 이스트 05:00~22:00 / 센트럴 06:00~22:00 / 웨스트 06:00~00:30 이다.
라운지 위치 별 이용시간이 상이하니 미리 알아보고 가는 것이 좋을 듯 하다.

라운지 이용 대상은 아시아나 비즈니스 탑승 or 아시아나클럽 / 스타얼라이언스 회원의 등급에 따라서 결정되고, 아시아나 항공 장거리 이코노미 스마티움 고객, 그리고 PP카드 이용 고객이다.
그리고 회원 등급에 따라서 더 상위 등급은 아시아나 비즈니스 라운지가 아닌 아시아나 비즈니스 라운지 스위트라고 또 다른 곳이 있는 듯 하다. 더 자세한 내용은 아시아나 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있다.

아시아나 비즈니스 라운지 음식 종류, 주류 종류 

확실히 마티나 라운지에 비하면 가짓수가 많지는 않다. 약간은 초라해 보일 정도..?

푸드바에는 여러 가지 샐러드와 과일, 그리고 한 입 거리인 미니 샌드위치 2가지, 기본적인 빵 3~4종류, 스파게티, 치킨 등 핫푸드 4종류, 죽, 수프 그리고 컵라면 이 정도가 있다.
그리고 푸드 바 쪽에는 마실 것으로 주스랑 커피, 물 등이 있다. 뭔가 고른다고 하기에는 종류가 정말 많지 않기 때문에 한 접시에 많이 담을만한 것도 없다.
약간은 이게 비즈니스 라운지 푸드의 가짓수인가..? 싶기도 했다. 

그래도 핫 푸드에서 내가 좋아하는 스파게티랑 치킨, 푸실리 샐러드, 미니 샌드위치, 수프 이렇게만 담아도 두 접시는 뚝딱이었다. 있는 메뉴들은 대체로 먹을만했고, 맛도 나쁘지 않았다. 나는 면순이어서 스파게티 위주로 먹었고, 미니 샌드위치는 쏘쏘~ 그 외 치킨이 생각보다 맥주 안주로 괜찮았다.
남편도 두 접시를 비우고, 추가로 컵라면까지 먹었다. 남편이 컵라면을 먹는 걸 보고, 나도 먹을까 말까 정말 너무 고민 많이 했는데 아직 여행 출발도 안 했는데 벌써 라면부터 먹는 건 오바인것 같아서 참았다ㅋㅋ

푸드 바의 완전 반대편인 라운지 입구 근처에 주류 바가 따로 있는데, 여기에는 맥주, 와인이랑 화요부터 잭다니엘, 조니워커, 스미노프, 레미마틴, 깔루아, 사케 등 주류 종류가 다양하게 있다.
출발 전부터 술을 막 이것저것 과하게 먹기는 좀 그렇고.. 역시 여행에는 생맥주지! 식사하면서 생맥주를 곁들이고, 그 후에는 소파에 앉아서 준마이긴조 사케만 한 잔 마셨다.

그렇게 발리 여행 출발 전 아시아나 비즈니스 라운지에서 너무 편하게 시간을 때울 수 있었고, 보딩타임 직전에 시부모님 드릴 선물을 살까 하고 면세점 구경했다. 아쿠아 디 파르마 향수를 그때 샀었어야 했는데.. 자카르타나 발리 공항에도 뭔가 살게 있겠지~라고 생각하고 말았다. (정말 잘못된 생각이었음)

이제는 정말 발리 여행을  출발할 시간이다. 자카르타 행 비행기를 타기 위해 26번 게이트로 이동했다.

Bali & Gili Trawangan

처음 발리 비행기 표를 예약했을 때에는 인천에서 자카르타 왕복, 그리고 자카르타에서 발리 왕복으로 끊었었다.
원래 여행의 첫 일정이 발리의 문둑이라는 지역이어서 자카르타에서 발리로 간 후 길리로 갈 예정이었는데, 중간에 발리와 길리의 일정이 바뀌었다.
그래서 자카르타에서 발리로 들어갈 필요가 없어졌고, 자카르타에서 길리로 가는 방법은 롬복을 통해서 가는 것이 소요시간이 훨씬 적게 든다.
그래서 길리 트라왕안 항공권 예약을 자카르타에서 롬복행으로 비행기 표를 바꿨다.

자카르타에서 발리 항공사 추천 및 가격

나는 발리 여행 비용을 아낄 겸 인천-자카르타 비행기표를 아시아나 마일리지로 예약했다.
그래서 별도로 자카르타에서 발리로 왕복할 비행 편을 추가로 구매해야 했다. 스카이스캐너에서 검색해 보면 자카르타에서 발리로 갈 수 있는 비행편은 많다. 항공사도 다양하고, 시간대도 엄청 많다.
항공사는 라이언에어, 슈퍼에어젯, 바틱에어, 시티링크, 트랜스누사, 에어아시아, 가루다 등.. 특히 라이언이랑 슈퍼에어젯의 비행 편이 엄청 많다.

왕복 가격도 10만 원 초반부터 가능하다.
그런데 저렴하면 저렴한 이유가 있는 법.. 검색해 보면 어느 항공사든 연착 이슈가 흔하다고 한다.
자카르타에서 발리 비행시간은 2시간 정도기 때문에 자리 불편한 거는 대충 참으면 되는데, 연착되면 여행 시간도 깎아먹고, 다음 일정을 위한 이동 편에 문제가 생기기 때문에 그나마 연착 이슈가 덜하다는 가루다항공, 바틱에어 중 고르는것이 나을 것 같았다.
가격은 가루다항공은 자카르타-발리 왕복 1인 30만 원 정도였고, 바틱에어는 21만 원 정도했다. 두 항공사의 가격차이가 거의 10만 원 정도여서 꽤 고민했는데 결국 최종은 가루다로 결정했다.

가루다는 라이언이나 슈퍼에어젯에 비해서 시간표가 많지 않다.
내 발리 여행의 첫 일정은 문둑이었고, 발리에서 문둑까지 가는 시간이 있어서 오전 이른 비행기로 예약했다.
자카르타에서 발리 비행기표 왕복 2인 총 7,384,440루피아 (약 60만 원)정도 결제했다.

항공권 예약을 끝마치고 어느 정도 시간이 지난 후 길리에서 묵으려고 찜 해놨던 숙소를 예약하려고 보니 딱 내가 원하던 날짜만 예약이 불가 상태여서 급하게 문둑일정과 길리 일정을 바꿨다.
그러면서 발리 여행의 첫 일정이 길리 트라왕안이 되었는데, 자카르타 공항에서 발리 공항으로 간 후 길리로 가려면 빠당바이 항구까지 차로 또 꽤 이동해야 하고, 빠당바이 항구에서 길리 트라왕안까지 스피드 보트로 1~2시간 이동한다. 어차피 자카르타에서 롬복까지 비행시간도 2시간이기 때문에 자카르타 공항에서 롬복 공항으로 간 후 길리로 가는 것이 훨씬 시간적인 부분에서 이득일 것으로 보여서 비행 편을 변경하기로 했다.

그래서 가루다항공 홈페이지에서 1:1 비행편을 변경할 수 있는지 문의했다.
내가 예약한 비행편 코드와 정확한 날짜와 시간을 알려주면 되고, 항공편 두 명 변경 수수료 416,000루피아(약 3만 8천 원)가 추가된다고 한다. 계속 항공권 관련으로 지출이 생겨 아깝긴 했지만.. 그래도 이게 훨 나은 방법이니 어쩔 수 없다. 메신저 상담 직원이 페이먼트 링크를 주면 해당 링크에서 55분 이내에 결제 완료하니항공권 변경이 완료됐다.

그렇게 이번 발리 여행의 최종 항공권은 인천-자카르타 / 자카르타-롬복 / 발리-자카르타 / 자카르타-인천 이렇게 결정되었다. 처음에는 단순히 문둑 리조트의 예약 날짜가 정해져있었기 때문에 자카르타-발리 문둑-길리트라왕안-자카르타 이렇게 해야 한다고 생각해서 결정했었지만, 이때 자카르타-발리 왕복 항공권을 편도로 변경해서 롬복행으로 바꾼 것이 진짜 잘 한 선택이었다. 
자카르타에서 출발할 경우 길리 트라왕안 항공권 을 고민한다면 롬복행 비행기로 결정하는 것을 추천한다!
